Growling Grass Frog habitat offsets were purchased in East Gippsland as part of the Melbourne Airport expansion (Reference). As part of the offset the habitat areas required Australian Landscape Trust covenants. Under the conditions of the offset and the covenant the habitat area required annual surveys to determine presence, abundance and successful recruitment of Growling Grass Frogs. Gondwanan Ecosystems Management (GEM) was engaged to undertake breeding adulty surveys and tadpole surveys to ensure that recruitment had been successful and that Growling Grass Frog populations were increasing.
